That’s more of family life under one roof than anything else on the list.
That’s its clear win. If you want organization plus knowing where everyone is plus tracking household spending in a single app, FamilyWall does it confidently. Location and place alerts — a Premium feature — are genuinely useful for families with older kids moving between school and activities, and that is our own use case: FamilyWall does something there that ACTIQO does not do at all. The lists on the free tier and the Premium meal planner cover the household-logistics job well.
It also runs on iOS, Android and the web. ACTIQO cannot say that — we are iOS and web only, with no Android app. For a household with any Android phone in it, that difference decides the question before any feature does.
One thing to be exact about: the strongest features are paid. The free tier gives you a shared calendar, lists and private family messaging. Premium — $4.99/month or $44.99/year, after a 30-day trial — is what unlocks the meal planner, real-time location with place alerts, calendar sync with Google and Outlook, and budgeting. Anyone weighing FamilyWall for location or meal planning is weighing a paid plan, not the free one.

Where ACTIQO helps — and where it doesn’t
Since we make it, here’s the honest version.

ACTIQO helps families manage the logistics around each activity — leave times, per-event checklists, caregiver responsibilities, handoffs and check-ins — then helps them see patterns in cost, enjoyment, energy and family workload to decide what’s worth keeping. Game Plan, on the Family plan, carries the responsibilities and prep for each event so the plan doesn’t live in one parent’s memory. The evaluation side is what we call Family Activity Intelligence.
The depth is the point. A general organizer can hold the fact that swim is Tuesday and that you spent money on it. ACTIQO is built around the questions underneath: what time do we leave given traffic, who is responsible tonight, what has to be in the bag, does the sitter know, and after a season — given what this cost in money, time and energy — do we sign up again.
Its limits are real and they’re wide. ACTIQO runs on iOS and the web only. There is no Android app, and FamilyWall runs on Android, so for a mixed-device family this is settled before features matter. ACTIQO also has no meal planner, no grocery or to-do lists, no family messaging and no location sharing — four things FamilyWall does and we do not. The free plan covers one child and two activities before it becomes paid.
On calendars, the gap is real and worth naming precisely. FamilyWall Premium does two-way calendar sync with Google and Outlook: your calendars stay in step, in both directions, continuously. ACTIQO does not do that at all — no import, no sync with Google, Apple or Outlook. What ACTIQO does is narrower and different in kind: for a scheduled event — a game, meet, or recital — it can send a calendar invite (.ics) so a caregiver can add that event to whatever calendar they already use and see they’re expected there. One event, sent to one person, so the adult covering pickup has it on their own phone. If what you want is your calendars kept in step, that’s FamilyWall Premium, not us.
Both track money. They track different money.
This is the place the two products come closest, so it’s worth being precise rather than glib. FamilyWall’s expense and budget tracker, on Premium, tracks household spending — the family’s outgoings as a whole. ACTIQO tracks cost per activity, attached to that activity’s record, so it feeds the keep-or-drop decision at the end of a season.
Neither is the better tool in the abstract. They answer different questions. “What did we spend this month?” is a household budgeting question and FamilyWall is built for it; ACTIQO is not, and won’t give you a household budget. “Is gymnastics worth what it’s costing us?” is an activity question, and that’s the one ACTIQO is built around. A family that wants the first should not buy ACTIQO for it.
What we say about FamilyWall elsewhere
Our Cozi alternatives page names FamilyWall as the closest like-for-like replacement for Cozi, and being the head-to-head subject here changes nothing about that. If you want Cozi’s job done by a different app — calendar, lists, meals under one roof — FamilyWall is still where we’d point you, and we’d point you there over ourselves, because ACTIQO does not do that job at all.
On using both: it’s possible, and some families will. But we won’t pretend it’s the obvious answer the way it is with a free calendar. On our side the comparison cuts both ways, so here it is in both directions. ACTIQO Plus is $2.99/month or $29.99/year — cheaper than FamilyWall Premium. But Plus doesn’t include Game Plan, caregiver access or leave times. The tier this page is really arguing for is Family, at $7.99/month or $79.99/year — noticeably more than FamilyWall Premium, for an app that does considerably less of family life. Whether that’s worth it depends entirely on whether the activity layer is your actual problem.
